Strandwoven TIMBER Teak
Sustainability Benefit:
Made from post-industrial, by-product poplar material sourced from the furniture manufacturing and pulp industries, the TIMBER™ line (“FSC-Recycled”) epitomizes sustainable product innovation, and highlights the idea of taking industrial discards, and making them better than their traditional counterparts. As with the TIMBER Natural, the wood strands are sorted, cleaned, coated, and compressed, before being cured and milled into either planks, or wear-layers if it is destined for “engineered” material. The “teak” color is achieved through a topical stain, and as a color, it effectively mutes the inherent color variation found in the Natural. The rich and consistent grain pattern subtly pops on the finished floor surface.
- “FSC-Recycled” Chain of Custody Certification (made from 100% “by-product” material from the furniture manufacturing and pulp industries)
- Made with low-VOC, E0-compliant, and NAUF (No Added Urea Formaldehyde) glues
- Extremely hard and stable (over 2x times as hard as commonly used Oak; more stable than all other traditional wood products when properly acclimated
- Offers a tremendously deep and rich grain pattern with limited color variation due to the muting effect created with the Teak stain
- Available prefinished (micro-bevel w/ NO Aluminum Oxide) and in Unfinished Natural (square-edged) which can be stained on-site, any color; also available with a full line of accessories (stair treads, etc.) and matching panel/millwork components.
